In 2024, he co-founded Offside, a privately funded incubator and launch pad for transformative hospitality brands, focusing on environmentally sustainable and financially feasible expansion of tourism and commerce in nature settings and rural areas. Offside serves as an investment platform for those interested in niche hospitality and lodging solutions outside of major urban centers. What makes Offside distinct within the hospitality industry are the comprehensive solutions it offers, from conceptual brand development to onsite construction to operational strategies, all made possible through Athanasiou’s personal and professional background and involvement in all facets of the hospitality industry during his 20-plus-year career.
