Our guest today is Mike Cobb, co-founder & CEO of ECI Development and President of Gran Pacifica. Named among the “100 Outstanding CEOs in Central America” by Mercados & Tendencias, Mike left a successful career in the computer industry to pursue opportunities in the emerging real estate markets of Central America.
In 1996, he co-founded Exotic Caye International, initially providing loans to North Americans buying properties in Belize and Honduras. As demand grew, the mortgage company transitioned into an international bank under Belize jurisdiction, expanding its financial services.
Recognizing the demand for North American-standard real estate for Baby Boomers, Mike led ECI Development into property development. This included a resort on Ambergris Caye, Belize, and a master-planned community in Nicaragua. In 2006, ECI expanded into Costa Rica with a significant land acquisition. Currently, they are developing 200 condominium units on Ambergris Caye.
Mike Cobb is also a prominent speaker at international conferences on real estate financing and development.
